E-Waste We Recycle

Urban Miners run an environmentally sound e-waste recycling service in Waipā in
New Zealand. We are a not-for-profit, community-based organisation run entirely by volunteers.

Urban Miners accept a wide range of electronic devices for recycling. There are per-item fees to ensure full and
responsible recycling. The full list of e-waste items we accept and fees are here.

E-Waste Fees

Responsible recycling of e-waste carries a financial cost. Our fees cover processing, freight, insurance, and compliance costs.

We keep our fees simple:

  • $5 for small electronics

  • $10 for larger electronics

  • $15 for printers & scanners

  • $55 for CRT TVs

Household batteries, car batteries, wiring and cabling are free of charge.

How it works:
We use a simple sizing template (40cm x 20cm).

  • If your item fits through, it’s charged at the Small Electronics rate.

  • If it doesn’t, it’s charged at the Large Electronics rate.
